What we are
Bush hideouts is a pristine bush camp set along the Goulburn River, nestled 12 kms from the town of Tallarook. Come and camp with us but forget the hassle and expense of camping gear! Set on our 500 acre property, we’ve set up 5 cosy safari tents and you’ll have access to a central cabin designed by architect Chris Humphries with a full kitchen, self composting loos, fantastic fireplace, on site bar and hot showers. We reckon it’s glamping with a twist.
Originally made for the Diggers club as an Education centre to propagate heirloom seeds, we have a forgotten garden for you to explore as you wander through the bush. Come to Bush Hideouts and simply switch off, reconnect with your loved ones and meet our many furry and feathered friends who call this landscape their home. We are located next to the Horseshoe Lagoon forest and fauna reserve.
We have a large Wombat population and the reclusive Platypus is spotted regularly in the Lagoon and Goulburn river. A battalion of Kangaroos also pass through in the mornings.
Our camping accommodation includes 5 South African Campmor 3mx3m safari tents with single or double beds and a central cabin. The venue is ideal for groups. We love to host events be it your yoga retreat, writing workshop or fly fishing adventure. Our full kitchen and onsite chef means we’ve got your meals covered.
Alternatively, let us take you on our defender experience. We take you on a 4WD adventure off the beaten track on property and leave you to explore your surroundings with the defender fully loaded with dinner, drinks and breakfast.
